Coffee competition partnership
The Investment Promotion Authority has come on board as a partner sponsor to support the 2018 coffee cupping competition taking place this week in Port Moresby.
A cheque of K5000 was presented to the Coffee Industry Corporation (CIC) General Manager Steven Tumae by director corporate services Anna Marikawa at the IPA office in Port Moresby on Moday.
Ms Marikawa said IPA had supported the event since 2015 and is looking forward to support the event in future as the industry supports majority of the rural population.
In an acknowledgement letter to CIC, acting managing director Clarence Hoot said IPA was pleased to note the progress and continuation of the PNG Coffee Cupping Competition, noting the purpose of the event for the benefit of the coffee industry.
He said IPA was committed to supporting such initiatives and would want to see the recipients have it materialise into tangible equipment valuing that amount to assist the quality of coffee production.
CIC general manager Steven Tumae said CIC was grateful to partners like IPA who have been very supportive since the inception of the competition.
“On behalf of CIC Board and the management team, I would like to acknowledge the invaluable support of IPA and others partners like Express Freight Management, Bolaven Farms, GrainPro Philippines, Bendig Ecological Coffee Mills, Proceso Puro, Liberty Coffee PTE Ltd, New Guinea Highlands Coffee and our major sponsor Pacific Horticultural and Agricultural Market Access (PHAMA) Program.”
