Pacific Horticultural and Agricultural Market Access Plus (PHAMA Plus) Program is pleased to announce its partnership with Foundations for Farming in Samoa to expand their crop processing facility and strengthen their export business.

Providing a reefer container for cold storage and essential processing equipment will support Foundations for Farming to improve their capacity to meet growing demand for their fresh and frozen produce in Australia, American Samoa and New Zealand.

For over 20 years, Foundations for Farming has been a family business exporting root crops such as taro, as well as other produce like cocoa, pawpaw and bananas. However, the enterprise has faced significant challenges due to outdated processing facilities. With PHAMA Plus support, they will be able to upgrade their infrastructure to ensure compliance with biosecurity and food safety standards, while also increasing their ability to process and store products for export.

Through this partnership, PHAMA Plus is supporting Foundations for Farming to meet the evolving needs of international markets while promoting sustainability and growth in Samoa’s agricultural sector.
