PACIFIC EXPORT CONTEXT ANALYSIS

The Pacific Export Context Analysis has been prepared by the PHAMA Plus Program and provides a strategic summary of country progress, ongoing constraints and opportunities in export, particularly in relation to the horticulture, agriculture, fisheries, forestry and tourism sectors. The analysis includes information on economic indicators relevant to the export environment, trade and export performance, investment levels, business environment information and demography. It also discusses compliance and biosecurity issues, changing climate conditions and the political context. Information is included on the six implementing countries of PHAMA Plus which are Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu. The Pacific Export Context Analysis has been prepared for use by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) in their policy dialogue with partner governments and regional organisations and other stakeholders (public and private).
