MAFF strengthens fumigation services to boost Tonga’s horticulture exports The Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Forests (MAFF) is strengthening Tonga’s horticulture export capacity through upgraded fumigation services. This initiative is supported by the Australia and New Zealand-funded Pacific Horticultural and Agricultural Market Access Plus (PHAMA Plus) program, and the PACER Plus Implementation Unit (PPIU). Fumigation is essential for Tonga’s exports, particularly watermelons bound for New Zealand, Samoa and American Samoa.
